Every now and then, we get emails and stories that touch us. Our founder, Smitha, often receives emails on her personal account. As she admits, she doesn’t always get to reply to all of them. But a chance exchange and a question, “how do I find the beauty in life?” prompted her to think about what really shows up in her life every day. Here, Smitha talks about small things she follows that give her joy, and allows us to escape for a little while the clouds that can sometimes obscure our sky.If you like this episode and want to receive a special newsletter straight from Smitha, do sign-up on the MyndStories website.www.myndstories.com You can also email us at podcast@myndstories.com for anything that you would like to ask Smitha. Oubaitori is a Japanese word or idiom that conveys the art of never comparing yourself. Too often, scrolling on social media can leave us feeling frustrated and that nagging feeling of never being 'enough.'Enter oubaitori. This one word helped Smitha to stop that spiral and honor herself. The idea is that the four trees that flower in the spring in Japan: apricot, cherry, peach, and plum - are each unique in their own ways. Similarly, each individual is unique with different perspectives and mindsets and follows different paths in life. The concept encourages you to embrace your individuality and refrain from comparison. If you like this episode and want to receive a special newsletter straight from Smitha, do sign-up on the MyndStories website.www.myndstories.com You can also email us at podcast@myndstories.com for anything that you would like to ask Smitha. What's the first thing you do as soon as you wake up in the morning?Check your messages? Scroll through your emails? We all do.In this episode of The MyndStories Moments, Smitha talks about how to best utilize the first two hours of your workday, which are also the most productive.Regardless of whether you are an early morning person or a night owl the first two hours when you begin working is the most critical part of your day. This is when your mind is at its freshest and you have the rest of your day ahead of you.Begin your workday with a 90-minute work session. According to the Huberman Lab podcast, where Smitha heard of this method first, our brains are optimally wired to function at peak performance for 90 minutes before we need a break. Here’s what Smitha suggests you do to optimize those 90 minutes:Decide on what gives you the most value (like generating leads or revenue) and work towards achieving that.Don’t check your emails or messagesTurn off notificationsPut on ambient music without lyrics, if you likeAt the end of 90 minutes give yourself a 10-15 minute rest with minimal sensory stimulationSmitha found that following this method helped her gain greater focus, make faster progress, and get closer to her goals.Check out the Huberman Lab podcast - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXvDEmo6uS4 And The Pomodoro technique - https://francescocirillo.com/pages/pomodoro-technique If you like this episode and want to receive a special newsletter straight from Smitha, do sign-up on the MyndStories website.www.myndstories.comYou can also email us at podcast@myndstories.com for anything that you would like to ask Smitha.
