In a major step toward expanding accessible healthcare tech, students from Puducherry Technological University (PTU) have developed three specialized mobile and web applications aimed at early mental health screening and psychological support across different age groups.
Officially unveiled by Chief Minister N. Rangasamy, the digital health initiative was built in collaboration with medical experts from the National Mental Health Program (NMHM) and local medical institutions.
The newly launched suite includes Mindora Py, designed for children and young adults aged 5 to 18 to detect early signs of learning disorders like dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia. For higher education settings, Peace enables graduate students to track their emotional well-being across semesters, flagging early warning signs of stress and burnout. Completing the roster is AlzPredict, a clinical web tool created for hospital outpatient departments to assist medical teams in screening elderly patients for early indicators of Alzheimer’s disease.
Developed with guidance from PTU faculty and senior psychiatric specialists from Puducherry General Hospital and the Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences, the project highlights a growing shift toward interdisciplinary digital health solutions.
The launch reflects a broader trend across India where technology is increasingly leveraged to remove the stigma around psychological support and catch mental health concerns before they reach a critical stage.
