Mental Health Santhe 2.0: NIMHANS to host mental health fair in Bangalore

There is Soul Santhe. There is Bangalore Santhe. And then there is Mental Health Santhe.

On February 20, the Department of Mental Health Education at NIMHANS is organizing the second edition of “Mental Health Santhe 2.0” to increase mental health awareness.

The event focuses on eliminating challenges related to social stigma and addressing mental health needs. With this, NIMHANS hopes to play a role in reducing suicides and facilitating awareness about existing services.

“The program will bridge the gap in the community’s mental health needs since a large number of people with mental issues do not seek appropriate treatment due to social stigma and lack of awareness. It aims at providing information on the various treatment options available in the domain and through this, create awareness among the public,” NIMHANS said in a press release.

NIMHANS is organizing the event in collaboration with mental health organizations, NGOs, healthcare institutions, and others.

Other departments within NIMHANS including the Department of Mental Health Education, Centre for Brain Research, Psychiatry, and others will join in the effort to make mental health accessible to all.

Details of the event:

Date: February 20, 2024

Time: 10:00 am – 4.30 pm

Venue: Convention Center, NIMHANS

Entry: Free
