Rediscover joy with nature and mangoes

The first rains of the monsoon are already pounding Mumbai. It seems just the right time for a unique mango festival nature walk – a blend of forest bathing, mindful eating, and seasonal celebration. This experience is designed for anyone seeking a gentle pause and a reconnection with nature’s rhythms.

Facilitated by Reshma Ashar, psychologist and nature therapy guide, this event blends therapeutic insights, storytelling, and the simple pleasure of mangoes to create a memorable start to the monsoon.

What to expect

Shinrin Yoku walk: Immerse yourself in the Japanese practice of “forest bathing,” known as shinrin yoku. Research shows that guided walks in nature can reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and enhance mood and immune function. The lush, rain-soaked greenery of Kamla Nehru Park is the perfect setting for this mindful stroll.

Why this matters

Monsoon and mental health: The arrival of the monsoon is often associated with renewal and relief after the summer heat. Studies suggest that spending time in green spaces, especially during the monsoon, can boost emotional well-being and reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression.

Mangoes in Indian culture: Mangoes are not just a fruit—they’re woven into Indian folklore, festivals, and childhood memories, symbolizing abundance and joy.
