Survey reveals Indian employees working from office unhappy, 65% might resign in next 6 months

Indian employees working from office unhappy
Written by Neha Jain

With the pandemic loosening its grip on the world, work from office has become the trend again. However, as per a survey conducted by uKnowva, a platform that enables businesses to scale and automate operations, the return to work from office model is adversely impacting the happiness of the employees.

The survey revealed that 29% of the surveyed employees working from home were happier than the ones working from the office.

“The workforce has found a new love with remote working which gives them the freedom and productivity they desire. Remote work enables employees to choose their preferred environment for working and being productive. This might explain why remote workers are substantially more productive and happy than their in-office counterparts,” said Vicky Jain, CEO and Founder of uKnowva to The Financial Express.

The work-from-office mandate is not only impacting employees’ happiness but also increasing the likelihood of dissatisfied employees quitting their jobs. As per uKnowva’s Cognitive Intelligence Report, 65% of unhappy employees will resign in the next 6 months. The report also stated that 57% of these employees would be women.

“Women prefer to work from home as, during the pandemic, they were able to manage their house and work without having to travel or be away from the family. Women are now either leaving their jobs due to flexibility issues or are once again juggling between the responsibilities of work & home,” added Jain.
