During the session, you’ll learn how to identify the signs of someone in crisis and engage in conversations about suicide with empathy and compassion. You’ll also gain practical skills to offer immediate assistance and create safe environments.
About the facilitator
This QPR gatekeeper instructor-led training is a resource for you to become a changemaker in society and is facilitated by Riya Singhal, who has trained over 500+ gatekeepers in educational institutions, corporates and mental health professionals. She is a dedicated psychologist with over 3 years of experience in helping individuals develop the strength and skills to navigate life’s challenges.
What is QPR Gatekeeper training?
- A “Gatekeeper” is someone who can identify individuals at suicide risk and guide them toward timely and appropriate help.
- QPR stands for Question, Persuade, Refer. This evidence-based training empowers individuals to:
- Understanding the subject of suicide.
- Recognize the warning signs, risk factors and protective factors of suicide.
- Ask Questions about suicidal thoughts in a caring way.
- Persuade the person to seek help.
- Refer them to resources.
By equipping ourselves with these skills, we can create a support system to make a difference.

No, this is QPR Institution’s copyrighted material that cannot be shared with the participants
3. Is this event for all ages?
No, this event is only for adults.
4. Can someone else attend the event in place of me?
No, as it would be difficult for us to keep track.
5. Can multiple people watch the webinar with me?
No, only the named participant can take part.
6. Does the certificate have validity?
Yes, 1 year. Post which you can recertify.
7. What is the eligibility for certification?
Attending the entire 4 hours session and completing a brief online evaluation post-training.
8. What if I cannot make it to the event?
