People who joke about suicide don’t actually attempt suicide
Only experts can prevent suicide
People who attempt suicide are on an average weak people (mentally and emotionally)
As suicide is a momentary decision, if people can think positive, they can easily let the dark moments pass
Answered true for all?
Then you may be surprised to know that all statements are false.
It is possible to prevent suicide by recognizing the signs in advance, providing support, taking the individual seriously and approaching them with empathy.
In this QPR Gatekeeper training for suicide prevention workshop led by Atul Sharma we give you an in-depth understanding of suicide, its symptoms, and how you can support someone who expresses suicidal thoughts.
Atul has trained over 1150 individuals as Gatekeepers, equipping them with the practical information and skills needed to help people in distress.
What is QPR Gatekeeper training?
QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer, where the aim is to identify and interrupt the crisis and guide the person toward proper care.
A gatekeeper is someone in a position to recognize a crisis and the warning signs that someone may be contemplating suicide.

What everyone says
QPR is not a form of counselling or a treatment; rather it is intended to offer hope through positive actions. A special thanks to our wonderful trainer – Atul Sharma who discussed this sensitive topic with so much empathy and ease.
